Who We Are
Our Story
We did not start The Sonship Place (T.S.P) Church because we had it all figured out. We started it because the gospel had figured us out, and we were learning, really learning, how to allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Before T.S.P existed, we were two sons unlearning religion sons and discovering grace. The Father was patient with us. He dismantled every performance we had built our identity on and replaced it with a name we did not earn: Agapetos. Beloved. That revelation did not arrive neatly. It arrived through wilderness seasons, through questions we were afraid to ask in church, through the slow and sometimes painful process of letting the Holy Spirit lead instead of leading ourselves.
When the performance fell, grace remained.
And when grace remained, everything changed.
T.S.P was born on March 6, 2023 from that change. It began in our living room and has been stretching across nations, because the gospel does not respect borders. Every declaration we speak over this family was first spoken over our own lives. Some through tears. Some through laughter. All through the revelation that we are sons of God (every believer, without exception), loved before we performed anything, held before we understood anything, and sent to tell anyone who will listen: you are H.O.M.E

Leadership

Osi
Chief Serving Son
PO (as Osi is fondly called) is a Michigan State University graduate, a teacher, worshipper, writer, and apologist. He was anointed as a pastor just a year after embracing the life of Christ, and learned that gifting alone does not qualify for ministry. A character that reflects Christ, intimacy with the Holy Spirit, and alignment with the timing of the Father do.
Through seasons of pruning and waiting, he was taught to let go of performance and fully embrace his identity as a son of God. Today, he serves The Sonship Place Church not as a perfect man, but as a yielded vessel, one who lives to reflect the image and likeness of Christ. He is a husband, a son, a brother and a friend in Christ.
Oyin
Co-Serving Son
PHoney (as Oyin is fondly called) is a Senior Technical Program Manager by profession and a son who co-builds everything T.S.P Church is. She holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland and brings the same precision to theological work that she brings to engineering systems.
Marked by humility, authenticity, and a deep dependence on the Holy Spirit, she brings wisdom and encouragement to every season and conversation. She is dedicated to helping others discover their true identity as sons, walk in the fullness of Christ, and live out their calling with boldness and peace.
Our Vision
We reveal Jesus by maturing sons to live from the finished work of salvation and walk in the identity of sonship.
The Holy Spirit develops this vision through the Sonship Academy, and the teaching is explored further at The Table.
Our Values
Our statement of core values. Every decision, every teaching, and every expression is measured against these four values
Our Mission
Our mission is to root and equip believers in the finished work of Christ, growing in Sonship, Outreach, Love, Authority, and Rest. We pursue this together in our gatherings.
Sonship-Centered
Everything we do flows from the revelation of sonship in Christ. We build sons. Every teaching, gathering, and initiative exists to deepen the believer’s understanding of their identity as a son of God with full inheritance rights.
Outward-Reaching
We face the church first, calling it back to the Christ it has been called into, then face the world as agents and ministers of reconciliation. T.S.P exists to serve the broader body of Christ and, through the body, the world. Formation is the means. Multiplication is the fruit.
Love-Established
Ephesians 3:17 grounds our entire mission in love. The soil from which everything grows is the Father’s love. We are rooted and grounded in love so that we may comprehend, with all the saints, the breadth and length and height and depth of Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge.
Life at Every Stage
The Sonship Place (T.S.P) Church is a body with intentional formation at every life stage. Every expression works the same Seven Pillars and Seven Facets of Maturity simultaneously, at different depths and in different life contexts. No expression stands alone. Every joint supplies.
Theological Framework
The structural convictions that hold everything at T.S.P together
Grace is God’s unmerited favor that saves and transforms us. We rest in Christ’s finished work, free from performance and striving for acceptance. Grace is not merely an attribute but the personal ministry of the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of grace. We did nothing to earn it; we can do nothing to lose it.
Faith is not merely belief about Christ but a living union with Christ. He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). In Christ, we possess the substance of everything the saints hoped for, and He is the visible evidence of invisible realities.
The Holy Spirit is our daily companion, guide, and empowerer. He applies Christ’s finished work in us. The Holy Spirit speaks primarily and authoritatively through Scripture. Impressions, promptings, and circumstances are subjective and must always be submissive to the written Word.
We are sons of God by new birth, whether male sons or female sons, heirs of the Father, co-heirs with Christ. This identity is based on Christ’s work for us (imputed righteousness) and submission to the leadership of Christ’s essence in us (the Holy Spirit’s fruit-bearing presence).
Rest is ceasing from self-effort for acceptance and trusting Christ’s finished work. It is not passivity but the posture from which all fruitful action flows. We work from approval, not for approval. The Holy Spirit produces holiness in us from the moment of belief, and the fruit of that holiness unfolds progressively as our new nature conforms our living.
United as one Body under Christ the Head, we operate in His delegated authority. This is a covenantal union of a heterogeneous reality: we are one in receiving the fullness of God through belief in the finished work of Christ. We remain distinct persons united to Christ, our wills aligned but not absorbed. Authority starts with submission to the Holy Spirit and flows in service. Maturity is measured by downward mobility, not upward authority.
Love is God’s nature formed in us. It is both the fruit of our journey and the ultimate expression of mature sonship. We do not keep the Law to get life; we have received Life to live out the Law’s intent, which is Love. The Holy Spirit empowers us to love God and neighbor, fulfilling the intent of God’s eternal Law.
Take all the time you need
Authority-Exercising
We operate from the authority of the finished work of Christ, not from human ambition or institutional power. Authority starts with submission to the Holy Spirit and flows in service. The mature son exercises authority by washing feet, not by wielding power.
Rest-Operating
Ceasing from striving for acceptance, trusting wholly in Christ’s finished work, while submitting to the Holy Spirit who labors in us to fulfill God’s good pleasure and kind intention. We work from approval, not for approval.
More expressions are being designed as the Holy Spirit leads and as the church family grows.
