Formation
You are not trained into sonship. You are formed into the awareness of what is already true.
The Sonship Academy exists to walk every sons through a structured encounter with the gospel of grace, grounded in Scripture, shaped by the Holy Spirit, and held within the church family.
Framework
Formation at The Sonship Place (T.S.P) Church is structured around seven facets of the same diamond: one path, many expressions of the same grace. Each facet names a stage and a posture to inhabit.
We use a diamond, not a ladder, because formation is not linear and there is no top to reach. Each course is a facet being refined under pressure, and every facet matters equally.
Salvation
starts the journey
Seeking to Believing
You may be searching for answers about God, grace, and identity, and the Holy Spirit is drawing you toward the Gospel. The journey moves from curiosity to conviction, and salvation is received by grace through faith. This is a one-time, irreversible crossing from death to life. Salvation as T.S.P understands it is the full arc: justified (past, accomplished at the cross and received at belief), being sanctified (present, the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit), and assured of glorification (future, secured by Christ). It is the entrance into sonship, which is the whole journey.
Identity
grounds it
Believing and Becoming
You discover who you already are in Christ as the Holy Spirit reveals your identity and inheritance. You are a son of God by faith, not a servant striving to earn God’s favor but an heir who already possesses it. You begin to understand your seated position with Christ, your inheritance, and your standing as a child of God. You embrace the reality of being eternally loved, welcomed, and accepted as part of God’s family in Christ.
Fruit
expresses it
Becoming and Belonging
As your identity is established, you begin to produce fruit naturally. The root of all fruitfulness is believing: not mere intellectual assent but living union with Christ. This is the bridge from internal reality to external expression. From this root, fruit is naturally produced as you abide in Christ and Christ in you.
Fellowship
deepens it
Belonging and Maturing
You are drawn by the Holy Spirit into deep communion, often discovering Him most profoundly in the wilderness. You come to understand that the wilderness is not a place of abandonment but a classroom for worship. The testing of faith produces perseverance, character, and hope. Operating in spiritual gifts and embodying the fullness of Christ, you walk in the experiential knowledge of God, which is true eternal life.
Rest
anchors it
Maturing and Resting
As you allow yourself to be fully led by the Holy Spirit, you enter into and remain at true rest. This rest is ceasing from all attempts to earn God’s favor, trusting entirely in Christ’s finished work, and abiding in the Father’s love without anxiety or striving. It is not inactivity but the cessation of self-justifying efforts. From this place of rest, Holy Spirit-enabled obedience naturally flows.
Oneness
strengthens it
Resting and One
At rest, you experience a deepening union with Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, you are drawn into the oneness for which Jesus prayed in John 17: that you may be one as the Father and Son are one. This oneness is both positional (already true in Christ) and experiential (progressively realized through surrender). You do not strive for union but rest into it, discovering that you have been one with Christ since conversion.
Sonship
fulfills it
One and Expressing
The Body of Christ as one becomes the tangible expression of Christ’s life on earth. Together we reveal the full spectrum of His character: His presence, power, wisdom, will, goodness, glory, life, and love. This manifestation happens through proclaiming the Gospel, demonstrating the Gospel, making disciples, and suffering love. The ultimate goal is Christ fully formed in us, drawing the world to the Father.
